On April 20th, I was delighted to co-host the inaugural meeting of the North Carolina Compliance Association in Durham, N.C. with my colleague, Amy Richardson of Harris, Wiltshire and Grannis, LLP. Compliance professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including technology, pharmaceuticals, education, analytics and local government gathered from across the state. The meeting opened with our presentation outlining the effect of President Trump’s executive orders and key agency personnel changes in the first quarter of President Trump’s administration. We then hosted a panel of compliance experts who addressed questions regarding privacy, provided insight into how to manage uncertainty in the regulatory environment, and suggestions on how to manage and track local, state and federal regulations.
The North Carolina Compliance Association is an organization of compliance professionals that focuses on information sharing, networking, and educating members about current compliance issues and regulations. The Association plans on meeting quarterly in locations around the state.
