On July 17, 2017, Jackie Terry Hughes presented the report of the Task Force on Employment and Wage Issues for Women to the Wake County Board of Commissioners. Jackie is proud to have been appointed to the 16 member Task Force with a number of prominent women in the community. The Task Force made a number of recommendations including the creation of the Wake Invests in Women Collaborative Impact Initiative to focus on closing the wage gap and creation of return to work programs in Wake County. The Board of Commissioners were supportive of the recommendations and Jackie remains hopeful that there will be progress on this area.
