I am very pleased that the Wake County Board of Commissioners thought enough of the report drafted by the Wake County Commission for Women: State of Employment for Women in Wake County, that a Task Force has been created to tackle some of the important issues identified within the report. Commissioner Sullivan will lead the Task Force of 18 members who will be focused on lifting the education levels for 79,000 women in Wake County with a GED or less; working on the creation of return to work programs for women; and researching the causes of the gender gap in Wake County. I am honored to be appointed a member of the group and look forward to working with the Task Force members in effecting meaningful change for women in Wake County. Further information on the Task Force can be found at the wakegov.com website.
